Each year our congregation takes some time to consider what God’s Word has to say about our stewardship of the gifts He gives us. Rather than basing our giving on what we think the Church needs, or on what we think we ought to give, we look to God’s Word for guidance. Throughout the month of September in our worship services, we will be examining what God’s Word says about His gifts to us as well as our giving to the work of His Church, and in particular we will look at chapters 14, 15, and 16 of Luke’s Gospel, leading us then to our celebration of Stewardship Sunday at our Divine Services the weekend of September 24 & 25.
A letter was recently mailed to all St. Matthew member households describing Stewardship Weekend and requesting that we prayerfully consider making an estimate of our giving for the year 2017. Please watch for this information.
As part of our celebration of Stewardship Sunday on September 25, we invite everyone to a congregation breakfast to be served between services that morning. The menu will include French toast casserole, ham, fruit, juice, and coffee. We hope you can attend!
